The night here
Taken together with East Williamsburg, Williamsburg has more licensed bars than any other guide here, and several music venues. The densest strip is Grand Street, followed by Graham Avenue, Bedford Avenue and the warehouse blocks of Kent Avenue near the waterfront, where the views of the Manhattan skyline are best at sunset.
It also has the most loud-music complaints of any area in these guides. The L at Bedford Avenue is the main link to Manhattan and runs all night, as do the J over the Williamsburg Bridge and the G along the eastern edge.
When it gets loud
3,286 complaints about loud music or parties at bars, clubs and other businesses were made to 311 from here in the last 12 months (438 per km², #6 of 24). 62% came in between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m., and 49% on Friday and Saturday nights.
Each row is an evening running into the next morning (the Saturday row ends Sunday at noon). Darker = more complaints. Source: NYC 311 service requests, “Noise – Commercial: Loud Music/Party”.
